Kodex is partnering with the Basel Institute on Governance as the inaugural sponsor of its Crypto Communities of Practice in Africa and Latin America. It is a natural fit. The communities bring together the people Kodex was built to support: the investigators, prosecutors, and financial intelligence specialists who chase illicit crypto across borders.

The communities are run by the Basel Institute's International Centre for Asset Recovery (ICAR), and they are practitioner-led. They run on operational knowledge, investigative technique, and real case experience rather than classroom theory, and they give investigators what most capacity-building efforts do not: a trusted peer network, hands-on training, and the cross-border channels that jurisdictional friction usually blocks.

The gap they close is the gap Kodex closes every day. Across both regions, the people working crypto cases often have the least access to specialized expertise, the right tools, and the international partnerships these investigations demand. Kodex connects the agencies that request data with the companies that hold it on one verified network, replacing email and fax with a system that confirms who is asking and moves legitimate requests in minutes instead of weeks. For investigators following assets that cross borders in seconds, that speed and certainty decide whether funds get recovered.
