Get verified once and send requests to every company on the network.
Kodex is where 16,000 government agencies and the companies that hold the records they need work the same request. A verified account puts your authority on file with every one of those companies before your first subpoena or warrant goes out.
Your requests land where companies are already waiting for them.
Companies on Kodex receive, verify, and respond to legal process here: subpoenas, search warrants, court orders, preservation letters, and emergency disclosure requests. Your request arrives in the queue their legal team already works from, structured the way they asked for it, with your authority confirmed.
You skip the search for the right contact at each company, and the time a legal team spends confirming who you are comes off the front of your request.
Four things that move faster once you're verified.
Arrive already verified
Kodex confirms your authority once. Every company you reach through the network sees that confirmation before it opens your request. Some requests still call for a second check on the company's side.
Find the right company in seconds
Search the network directory for the company, pick the request type, and send. When a company isn't on Kodex yet, we tell you where it accepts legal process.
Get complete answers the first time
Structured forms collect what each company needs before you submit, so fewer requests bounce back for missing details. Follow-up happens in a message thread attached to the request.
Keep a record you can put in the case file
Every submission, message, and response sits in one time-stamped thread. When the case goes to court, the history of the request is already written.
The companies on the other end are already faster because of Kodex.
These are results from companies on the network. Their side of the request runs on the same infrastructure yours does, which is why your requests move.
Become a verified requestor across the Kodex Request Network.
Kodex confirms your authority, giving companies confidence that requests made through the network come from a legitimate requestor. Here's how that happens, from account to first request.
Click Get Verified
Start this process by clicking "Get Verified" at the top of this page. This step should be completed through your agency's official channels, not personal or public devices.
Create your account
Sign up with your official agency, prosecutor's office, or firm email. This is the first step toward getting verified.
Get approved
Our verification team confirms your authority to request records. You'll get an email the moment your account is active.
Submit your first request
Choose a company from the network, pick the request type, and send. A case thread keeps track of it.
Built for law enforcement and open to everyone involved in secure casework.
The Kodex Request Network extends beyond sworn officers. It supports government agencies, legal professionals, and other organizations that securely request and exchange data as part of their investigative casework.
Law enforcement
Sworn officers and investigators, verified with an official agency email and credential.
Prosecutor's offices
Prosecutors and staff can verify and request records for active casework.
Law firms
Verified attorneys and investigators, including public defense offices, can reach the companies on Kodex that accept law-firm requests.
Regulators
Regulatory agencies can verify and request records as part of official investigations and enforcement actions.
A few things that help your verification move faster.
Transparency helps move things along: complete, accurate information upfront helps us confirm your identity and authority quickly, so you can start using the network sooner.
Allowlist Kodex before you apply
Agency email and network filters often block Kodex's verification messages silently, so you'll just see 'no code.' Share this exact list with your IT department to allowlist: *.kodexglobal.com, cognito-idp.us-west-1.amazonaws.com, and cognito-identity.us-west-1.amazonaws.com.
Apply without a VPN
Applying with your VPN off helps your verification go smoothly from the start. If you're using one, it's worth turning it off before you apply.
Use your official agency information
Sign up with your official agency name, email, and credentials, plus an agency-issued phone number or email we can use to follow up. This helps us confirm your authority and reach you quickly.
Skip group or shared logins
Group accounts are assumed to share login credentials, which raises the risk of law enforcement email compromise. Each authorized requestor should sign up individually.
FAQs
Does "Get Verified" mean I need to create an account first?
Yes. Getting verified is a two-part process: you create a free account, then submit your credential so our team can confirm your authority to request records. "Get Verified" is the outcome: clicking it takes you to account creation, which is the first step.
Who can create a Kodex account?
Law enforcement officers and investigators, prosecutor's offices, and, for a subset of companies on Kodex, law firms (including public defense offices) and regulators can all sign up using an official agency or firm email address.
What do I need to verify my account?
Create an account and provide complete details about you, your agency, and your unit. The more thorough the information, the faster we can verify you.
How long does verification take?
Verification times can vary depending on your agency and case. We'll email you as soon as your account is approved. If it's urgent, contact help@kodexglobal.com.
Can I use a shared or group account?
No. Group accounts are assumed to share login credentials, which increases the risk of law enforcement email compromise (LEEC). Each authorized requestor needs their own individual account.
Is there a cost to sign up?
No, creating and verifying a Kodex account is free. Kodex was founded by former law enforcement to give legitimate authorities a way to submit legal process through secure, encrypted channels: a powerful tool built by law enforcement, for law enforcement.
Can I set up training for my department?
Yes. We offer free, live training for investigative teams, about 45 minutes long, covering registration, submitting requests, and time-saving features. Email outreach@kodexglobal.com to schedule one.
